Read-only Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 reporting for a website operator.

What this service is

Switchboard is an internal, operator-run reporting tool. It is built so that a website owner can connect their own Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 data behind one private operator dashboard, instead of signing in to each Google product separately.

Access is granted by the owner of the Google account itself, through Google's standard OAuth 2.0 consent flow. Switchboard requests only read-only Google scopes, and it can only reach what that account authorises.

What it reads from Google

• Search performance data from Search Console and traffic data from Google Analytics 4, using Google's read-only APIs. The figures are fetched from Google for display; they are not copied into a separate reporting store.
• It cannot change, publish, or delete anything in your Google account, and it cannot create or modify properties.
• It asks for only four scopes: openid and email, so the authorised account can be identified rather than guessed, and the two read-only data scopes webmasters.readonly and analytics.readonly.
• It does not use Google data for advertising, profiling, or resale, and it does not share it with anyone else.

What is not switched on yet

Switchboard is in development and the reporting controls are not all released. Choosing which Search Console sites and Analytics properties a connection may use, and the dashboard view that presents their figures, are not enabled yet; the service completes the Google connection and holds the read-only credential, and refuses that selection until the provider-verification step exists. This page describes the service's design and how it handles Google data, and it will be updated as those features are released.
